From my early days, I used to gaze at things, sometimes get amazed, and sometimes laugh within. Things occur as they are supposed to happen. I remained in my dreams, a dream to see things in a better way. Life sometimes tries to teach us something but we remain busy in our unnecessary schedule.
Being brought up in a land where people love to raise voice against single atrocities, I was also not the different from them. I sometimes get astonished on how people lie not only to others but to themselves too. I saw small boys crying at the street for single bread, I saw small kids without any cloth. We say we are proud to be an Indian. Yes, we are! But what the wrong those cute faces and big soul has done while taking birth in this land of diversity. We sometimes says, perhaps we could have born in a big family. Those kids pray, ‘perhaps I could get some rice to eat today and bit water to drink.’
Amartya Sen, once rightly pointed out that we love to talk more than believe in doing things. Yes we are!
But we live in a democracy where every one is supposed to enjoy the same right and responsibility. But I feel we are in place where there is a Mockery of Democracy! Puzzled..? Let me say India is a place of 114 crore (approx.), where unofficially there is more than that, as people in street and BASTI don't have their Ration Card, forget about Voter ID cards. Nearly 65 % vote in real case scenario. Out of the 65% no party comes to single majority, even parties forming alliance at the center have major differences in ideologies at the state level. Taking the cases under consideration, parties coming with 200 seats are seen as great victory, where in reality they are perhaps getting the votes of nearly 30%, which is making that they are voted by less than 20 % of Voters of the country. The govt. of the people, by the people and for the people.... India is democratic country. Yes we are!
We think for development, big buildings, more malls, and more parks. Perhaps we could have taken out some time and think why the portions of people are still deprived from education, food, shelter. We are proud of our rich heritage, Yes we are!
I believe I am in a country where I have the right to speak in common forum, the right to express my thoughts. This is the one thing which I like the most in democracy. Others are just modified democracy, and an ideology that started with socialistic view and then in a mixed economic concept and presently it is more of a capitalistic economy….! The big fault of us is that, WE LOVE TO EAT THE FRUITS ON THE TREE AND ALSO THAT HAS FALLEN IN THE GROUNDS… We love to imitate the best of all and thus sometimes loose our own identity that we are more of an INTELLECTUAL ECONOMY... YES WE ARE..!!!!!
